MASTER OF COMPUTER APPLICATIONS (MCA)

Objectives

• The broad objective of the MCA programme is to prepare post graduates for productive careers in s corporate sector, PSU and academia by providing skill based environment for teaching and Research.
• To Apply the knowledge of computing fundamentals to various real life applications for any given requirement.
• To develop sound knowledge of entrepreneurial process and inculcate creativity and innovation amongst students
• To provide knowledge sharing environment for discussions and activities, like seminars and conferences.
• To design and develop applications to analyze and solve all computer science related problems
• To associate with the leading institutions for achieving maximum growth and excellence
• To produce industry ready graduates having highest regard for personal and institutional integrity, social responsibility, teamwork and continuous learning.

Programme Outcome

On successfully completing the program the student will be able to:

• Apply the knowledge of mathematics and computing fundamentals to various real life to solve complex corporate problems.
• Design and develop real time applications to analyze and solve all computer science related problems.
• Identify the system application, design and implement innovations at the work space.
• Involve in perennial learning for a continued career development and progress as a computer professional
• Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal, and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to management practice
• Apply the inherent technical and computer skills with absolute focus to function as a successful entrepreneur.

Eligibility

Passed BCA/Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent Degree. OR Passed B.Sc./B.Com/B.A. with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduation Level (with additional bridge courses as per the norms of the concerned University). Obtained at least 50% marks in the qualifying examination. (05% relaxation in marks in case of candidates belonging to ST/SC category).

Admission Process

They may also download the application form from the website of the University and may submit along with the relevant documents to the Information Centre of the University. They may also walk down to the University campus along with relevant documents to the Information centre for counselling and further admission process.

Applicants may submit the application form and required documents at the Admission Office personally or by post. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that the application form is complete in all respects, and is accompanied by the required documents.

Applicants should attach the copies of the following Certificates/Documents.

• Passing / Provisional Certificates along with Mark Sheets of the qualifying Examinations
• School/College Leaving Certificate last attended. 
• Conduct Certificate 
• Anti-Ragging Affidavit 
• Medical Fitness Certificate issued by a registered medical practitioner / government health centre.

Note: Final Year students awaiting the declaration of results can also apply and can also be considered for Admission. However, they have to submit the relevant supportive documents at the time of admission.

Summer Internship

The objective of summer internship is to understand and apply the theoretical concepts in practical environment, so as to develop a better comprehension of the Corporate and Professional environment. It is aimed at helping the students to obtain the practical insight in specialization area that they will be opting for their future career.

Summer Internship aims at enabling the students to transfer their earned knowledge within the classrooms to the workplace as well as to formalize students with the real-life complexities of the corporate world in the first hand. Apart from availing of the opportunities to do internship in companies through the campus process, students also have the freedom to choose companies on their own. It is assured that every student has a Summer Internship opportunity in his/her chosen stream of specialization. Students are required to submit Summer Internship report. An excellent summer internship report would be a passport to a dream job.

Career Opportunities

SBU is having an active placement cell working through out for maintaining good placement record. The placement cell is credited for taking active participation in selection of companies visiting the University for Campus recruitment. It is supported by active placement committee members who have rich industry experience and valuable linkages in the corporate world. Mandatory personality development classes have been introduced, in which students are trained for public speaking, presentations, self-assessment exercises etc.
